Volunteer
Our Society relies heavily on volunteers with all types of skills to make sure that together, we make a real difference to the lives of people affected by Multiple Sclerosis. We need great listeners, talented organisers, admin whizzes and strong leaders. If you like playing board games, cards and mah-jong then you’ll be right at home at our games group too.
Interviews are currently being held to identify new volunteers for our Monday and Tuesday groups. We also need someone to ring around our group members twice a month to remind them of group times and to gauge attendance numbers. If this sounds like you or you want to know more please contact Liz asap phone: 455 5894 ext 3.
You can support groups through a range of roles, from driving a van, to organising group meetings, helping at a fundraising event to becoming an Executive Committee member. Maybe you have lots of knowledge and contacts in your local area that could be of help?
We will soon be recruiting for volunteer van drivers who will transport our people to and from occasional group sessions. If you are keen to help by driving for us one day or more per month then please register your interest with Liz. A good degree of physical fitness is required for this position.
Website updates, newsletter collation and posting, and community research are other areas where volunteer help is required.
Maybe you would enjoy helping organise fundraising events, or even spare an hour to shake a collection bucket.
In all of these roles whether you do an hour a month or an hour a week, you will making a difference to people who live with Multiple Sclerosis every day.
Volunteers are needed throughout Otago not just Dunedin. If think you have something to offer and want to join our Volunteer team contact Liz to arrange an interview.
