On Wednesday 8 Feb 12 competitors either with Multiple Sclerosis or other neurological condition took on the challenge of competing in the New Zealand Masters Games PushPLay 5km Walk at Logan Park Dunedin.

The Oamaru Support Group met for Christms Lunch.
The South Otago Support Group met for Christmas Lunch.
The combined Central Otago Support Groups ( Alexandra, Cromwell, Wanaka) met for Christmas Lunch.

What a week it was!! A massive thank you to all who took part and supported our many MS Awareness Week events.  An especial thank you to the many hundreds of volunteers who gave their time to collect for us during our street appeal on a very cold and blustery day.  We are very grateful to you all. And to the generous people of Otago - thank you for your donations.  Many people in Otago will benefit from your generosity.

Sunday 13 February saw OMSS at the Lions Lark in the Park at the Dunedin Botanical Gardens.  Dunedin North Lions graciously made OMSS the recipient charity for the profit made from the day, to support the fundraising efforts towards our van.  Cooke Howlison Toyota loaned us a van for the day so that people could see what their financial contribution was being put towards.

Although it was an overcast day about 2000 people attended the days programme of events which saw Irish beat dancers, jazz bands, gymnastics, ballet and belly dancers which entertained the crowd from11am-4pm.

OMSS is grateful for the support of the Dunedin North Lions, Classic Hits Callum & P, the volunteers of the Crest train, Cooke Howlison Toyota and the public of Dunedin for supporting them at Lark in the Park.  We hope you enjoy the photos.

Our Awareness Week Programme proved very popular with strong support from the Dunedin public at most events. Good media coverage by the Otago Daily Times, Star Community Newspaper and Channel 9 TV helped us raise awareness of MS and the Society.

The 5th annual Wobbly Art Exhibition was held 2-10 September 1010 in the Community Gallery Dunedin. Over 200 people took the opportunity to view the amazing art work from artists throughout NZ who have Multiple Sclerosis and other neurological illnesses. Geoff Williams of Dunedin was the guest artist.

On a balmy 27 degree Mosgiel day members of the Mosgiel Support Group met to share the good tidings of the season by partaking in a wonderful lunch at the Mosgiel RSA and Community Club.
The company was supberb and the food was just as good. Blue Cod was the main order of the day.

We were sorry John, Noeline and Rebecca were unable to join us.

Santa thought it much too early to make a visit so nmyph (oops should that be ELF???) Tania filled in for him, carrying the sack of secret santa goodies. Don't give up your day job Tania............
